I was visiting my friends ranch in the hills above Lake Elsinore, when I heard a piercing cry in the backyard, just about sunset. I went out to see what was creating the sound and when I looked up into an Oak Tree, very close to the back patio of the house I discovered a Pea Hen, with her babies arranged underneath her belly, it seemed they were settling in for the evening and mom thought it would be less dangerous if she and her family were located off of the ground.
As is typical with kids of any kind, there's always that one who has to be different, notice the baby hanging upside down on the tree branch, perhaps his mom is sitting on him to keep him in place?
