One summer I went touring in the North State of California, specifically to see the many falls along the Mc Cloud River. This pastel is of the Upper Falls, where the river narrows due to the rocks in the area. This narrowing created a grotto like feel where the water flows through the stone. I found it had a spiritual quality to it.
